Milton Remote Special Town Meeting Set For July 28
After conducting the annual town meeting virtually due to the coronavirus crisis, the special town meeting will be done that way as well.
MILTON, MA — After determining its annual town meeting held remotely due to the coronavirus health crisis was a success, Milton Town Moderator Robert Hiss announced that the special town meeting to be held July 28 and July 30 will be held virtually as well.
"Given the extraordinary circumstances under which town government and its various committees have been operating since the COVID-19 crisis emerged," Warrant Committee Chair George Ashur said, "it was deemed more effective for the town meeting to address the (Fiscal Year 2021) budget through the warrant articles at the annual town meeting and to consider these 10 articles separately. The warrant includes articles submitted primarily by the select board and the planning board. These articles include changing several bylaws."
The warrant, which can be found here, include those related to the rental or lease of school property and municipal sites to pay for maintenance of existing school buildings and the establishment of 20 mile-per-hour safety zones.
