Ferrera followed three aunts and a sister to the school.

“I think if you have a sibling there you see the kind of student Fontbonne produces,” said Ferrera, who was among 31 students in the Class of 2011 who had a relative graduate from Fontbonne Academy.

During her time at Fontbonne, Ferrera was the President of the Good Fountain Players, a member of the Spanish National Honor Society, the Chair of the Spirit Committee and was involved in Peer Education and Peer Mentoring.

Last summer she interned at the Brookview House in Dorchester through the Julie Connelly Internship program.

As a junior, Ferrera was given the Sister Camella Gambale Award. The award recognizes an outstanding music student and is given in honor of a longtime choral director.

Ferrera will study marketing and communications at Emerson College this fall. She hopes to start a career in theater public relations after college.
