Milton School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Early Release Days
Here's a look at the must-know dates for the upcoming semester.
MILTON, MA – Record scratch, school can't be right around the corner, can it? It's still a ways away, but these things have a knack for sneaking up on you during the dog days of summer. The first day of school for grades 1-12 is Aug. 30.
The 2017-18 school calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.
Here's a list of dates to know for the fall semester:

- Aug. 28: Teachers arrive - professional development day
- Aug. 29: Teacher professional development day
- Aug. 30: School opens grades 1-12
- Sept. 1: No school
- Sept. 4: No school - Labor Day
- Sept. 5: Pre-K and K begin
- Sept. 21: No school - Rosh Hashanah
- Oct. 9: No school - Columbus Day
- Oct. 18: Early release - all schools
- Nov. 8: Early release - all schools, P-T conferences grades 6-12
- Nov. 10: No school - Veterans Day
- Nov. 22-24: No school - Thanksgiving recess
- Dec. 7: Early release - all schools, P-T conferences grades K-5
- Dec. 25-Jan. 2: No school - Winter recess
