Milton State Representative Will Not Seek Re-election
State Rep. Dan Cullinane issued a statement Wednesday saying he will not run for another term in the 12th Suffolk District.

MILTON, MA — State Rep. Dan Cullinane said Wednesday he would not seek re-election in the 12th Suffolk County. Cullinane said "the hardest decision of my professional life" was made so he could dedicate more time to his young family.
"For me, this is the right time to move on from elected office to put my family first," said Cullinane, who has a 2-year-old son and 8-month-old daughter, in a statement released Wednesday.
"I am truly grateful for the trust and confidence the residents of the12th Suffolk District have placed in me by entrusting me to be their voice in the Massachusetts House of Representatives," he said. "lt has been the honor of a lifetime serving as State Representative. I am proud of what we have accomplished together and proud of the legacy the results and progress we will be leaving behind to be built upon by whomever should follow."

Cullinane said the decision was made after a lot of thought and deep reflection with his family through the holidays and January. He said he plans to finish out his current term.
The 12th Suffolk District seat represents Milton and the Boston neighborhoods of Dorchester, Mattapan and Hyde Park.
