One Dead After Fatal Crash in Milton

Police are now investigating the three-car crash that took place Saturday morning.

From Massachusetts State Police:

Just after 6 a.m. Saturday, State Police from the Milton barracks responded to a three-car crash on Route 28 in Milton. Preliminary investigation by Trooper Daniel Close indicates that a 38-year-old woman from Boston was traveling on Route 28 South in Milton, just south of Chickatawbut Road, when her vehicle, a 1995 Toyota Corolla, was rear-ended by a 2008 Infinity G35x operated by a 31-year-old man from Holbrook. As a result of that crash, the Toyota was pushed into the breakdown lane. The Infinity then traveled into the northbound lane and struck a 2013 Honda Accord head-on.

The operators and sole occupants of both the Honda and the Infinity were extricated from their vehicles by members of the Milton Fire Department. The male operator of the Honda, Kelly Young, 56, of Mattapan, was transported to Milton Hospital where he was subsequently pronounced dead. The operator of the Infinity was transported to Boston Medical Center for treatment of serious injuries. The operator of the Toyota and an eight-year-old female passenger were transported to Carney Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
