REPORT: Off-Duty Police Officer Hit, Killed Milton Teen
The man who fatally hit a teenager while driving in Milton Wednesday has been identified as a police officer.

MILTON, MA — The man who fatally hit a teenager while driving in Milton Wednesday has been partially identified.
A source tells WHDH that the driver in the accident, a 44-year-old male from Hyde Park, is a police officer, who was off-duty at the time.

At around 3:30 p.m. am 18-year-old Milton High School student named Kate Lisa Etienne was struck on Brush Hill Road at Aberdeen Road in Milton. A preliminary investigation by the Massachusetts State Police indicated that Etienne was crossing Aberdeen Road when a Jeep Wrangler traveling in the left lane struck her. The car swerved into the median in an attempt to avoid the Etienne.

Etienne was taken to Boston Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.
Police say the driver stayed at the scene and no charges have been filed.
The accident remains under investigation.
