School Committee Honors Retirees

Members of the Milton Public Schools administration and School Committee said farewell to some retiring educators on Wednesday.

Prior to the School Committee meeting on Wednesday, June 8, Milton Public School officials held a reception for three of the retiring educators.

Becky Warner,  teacher; Gracie Burke, world language director; and , Milton High principal, were all recognized at the reception at .

Milton Educators Association President Margaret Gibbons, School Committee Chair Glenn Pavlicek and Superintendent Mary Gormley all made remarks.

"From the bottom of my heart, personally and professionally, I thank you on behalf of the Milton Public Schools," Gormley said, adding that all of the retirees have become part of the MPS family.

Pavlicek pointed out that it is always difficult to say goodbye to longtime members of the education community in Milton.

"Seeing our friends move on is one of those bittersweet moments," said Pavlicek.

Warner has worked in the MPS for 24 years, while Burke has 21 years and Drottar has 34.
