Social Media Helps Milton Police Identify Theft Suspect

Milton police said an anonymous tip generated through their public request for help in a CVS theft has generated a suspect in the case.

MILTON, MA — Milton police said a public request for help in identifying a woman wanted for questioning in the theft of items from an East Milton CVS has generated a suspect. Police said on Wednesday that the post on social media yielded an anonymous tip and what they believe is a positive identification.

Milton police said the post has been removed as it has served its purpose.

"Many thanks to all the members of the public on whose support and cooperation we have come to rely," Milton police posted on their Facebook page on Wednesday. "The importance of police-community relations cannot be overstated."

On Monday, Milton police posted the photo of a woman suspected of stealing several items from the CVS Pharmacy on Bassett Street on Dec. 11.
