St. Michael’s Parishioners Help Local Children B-SAFE

Volunteers help children enjoy the summer months in a fun and safe environment

From Monday, July 25 to Friday, July 29, parishioners at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church in Milton, Mass. volunteered for B-SAFE – the Bishop’s Summer Academic and Fun Enrichment day camp – at the Church of the Holy Spirit in Mattapan. The volunteers prepared, delivered, and served lunch to the elementary and middle school campers, teenage counselors, and site leaders.

The week’s activities were made possible by food and monetary donations from St. Michael’s parishioners. Support also came from a number of local businesses including: Abby Park/Novara Restaurant (550 Adams St, Milton), Ashmont Grill (555 Talbot Ave, Dorchester), and The Plate (27 Central Ave, Milton).

The Mattapan B-SAFE camp is one of six B-SAFE locations in the Boston area. The program offers young people a fun and safe environment in which to enjoy the summer months.
