Wakefield Estate Hosts annual “Dogwood Days” Celebration June 10-16
Bring the family for a visit to see and tour our gorgeous gardens. visit our animals - also woodturning demos, bonsai, and dog-friendly fun!
On June 10, the Wakefield Estate kicks-off its annual Dogwood Days, a week-long celebration timed to coincide with the annual blooming of hundreds of Polly Wakefield's kousa dogwood trees. Dogwood Days offers a broad array of activities including open hours, workshops, daily guided tours, a tree and plant sale and more. During Dogwood Days the Wakefield Estate, located at 1465 Brush Hill Road in Milton, will be open to the public daily from 10:00am to 4:00pm; $5 suggested donation.

Dogs & Dogwoods Day
Join us for a day of fun for families and four-legged friends featuring "dog" related activities, including an informal dog show at 1:00pm. Stroll the gardens and enjoy the dogwoods at their peak. All dogs must be kept on leash and be under their owner's control.

Bonsai Workshop, 11:00am
Learn how to create your own bonsai during this one-hour session. Self-taught veteran bonsai maker Fred Trusten will guide participants in creating their own bonsai. All materials will be provided. $30/members; $40/non-members. Space is limited for this session so registration is required; call 617-333-0924.
Woodturners Demo – all day
Members of the New England Woodturners Club will join Dogwood Days on June 10th and 11th to demonstrate their skill working the lathe to turn pieces of wood into art and practical items.
Sunday, June 11
Garden Conservancy Open Day
Each year, the Wakefield Estate plays host to Garden Conservancy's Open Day, a 1-day peek at unique local gardens. Begin your day at the Wakefield Estate, garden visits on this special day are $7 or purchase a discounted day pass ($30 for all five gardens) and a map and head out to see some or all of these great and inspiring gardens. A guided tour of the Wakefield Estate will be offered at 1:00 p.m., rain or shine.
Wednesday, June 14
Wine, Cheese, Trees and Trivia Tour, 6:30 pm
Enjoy light refreshments and a glass of wine and try your hand at "tree trivia" while strolling the formal gardens. Learn about the history of the estate's signature trees. Donation suggested; Please RSVP at 617-333-0924.

5th Dogwood Days Garden Party
The Dogwood Days Garden Party is the Wakefield Estate’s annual fundraiser, celebrating the legacy of Polly Wakefield and her extraordinary gift to the community. This year the party will showcase hors d'oeuvres from six local restaurants including the Ashmont Grill, Novara, Antonio's Bacaro, The Plate, ester, and Effie’s Homemade. Enjoy live music, a silent auction and wonderful food and drinks. Tickets are $75 and must be purchased in advance. For tickets call Call 617-333-0924.
