• Can tiny wasps save Berkshire ash trees? Researchers hope to slow the emerald ash borer (berkshireeagle.com) — Researchers are zeroing in on Monterey’s Konkapot Reserve, where a surprisingly healthy stand of ash near Steadman Pond could help protect local forests from the emerald ash borer. Using insecticide trials and tiny parasitoid wasps, scientists and the Berkshire Natural Resources Council hope to preserve genetically resilient ash trees and create long-term study plots that include Monterey woodlands.
