9th Annual Running & Walking Well 5K

Good Hope, Inc. is excited to announce the 9th Annual Running & Walking Well 5K, scheduled for Saturday, June 7, 2025, at 9:00 AM in Nahant, Massachusetts. This year's event aims to raise funds for constructing a well in the Lira District of Northern Uganda, providing clean and accessible water to thousands in need.

Event Details:

• Date & Time: Saturday, June 7, 2025, at 9:00 AM

• Location: Nahant Life Saving Station, 96 Nahant Road, Nahant, MA

• Registration: Early Bird Registration is $30 until May 7, 2025; $35 thereafter. Family registration (up to 4 participants) is $100, increasing to $120 after May 7. Race Day Schedule:

• Packet pick-up and registration open at 7:30 AM

• 5K Run/Walk starts at 9:00 AM

• Activities for Children including a free 100-Yard Kids Dash (under 10 years old) at 11:00 AM

• Free Lunch at 11:00 AM

• Silent Auction Closes at 11:30 AM

Since its inception in 2014, the Running & Walking Well 5K has funded the construction of wells in Kenya, Tanzania, Ghana, Morocco and Zimbabwe. This year, proceeds will support a new well in Uganda, addressing the urgent need for clean drinking water in the Lira District. Access to safe water is critical, as approximately 24% of Africa's 1.37 billion people lack this essential resource, leading to preventable diseases and deaths, especially among children.

Participants can contribute by running or walking in the event, volunteering, donating a silent auction item or spreading the word.
