8 New Coronavirus Deaths Reported At Mary Ann Morse In Natick
The nursing home's death toll rose to 17 on Tuesday, according to the Mary Ann Morse CEO.
NATICK, MA — The number of coronavirus deaths at the Mary Ann Morse Healthcare Center in Natick jumped by eight over the weekend, with officials on Tuesday reporting a total of 17 deaths. In a previous update on Friday, officials reported that nine Mary Ann Morse residents had died of coronavirus.
In what CEO Lisa Kubiak called a possible "light at the end of the tunnel," there had been no additional positive cases of coronavirus at the facility as of Tuesday. On Friday, the nursing home reported that 75 residents and 36 staff had tested positive following a National Guard testing effort inside the facility.
"Each day forward brings us closer to the light at the end of the tunnel," she said. "Together we shall persevere through our toughest days."

Five residents and one staff member had tested positive in a smaller outbreak at the Mary Ann Morse at Heritage facility in Framingham.
Senior care facilities across Massachusetts have been hit hard by coronavirus. Eighteen residents at the Falls at Cordingly Dam assisted living facility in Newton had died as of Tuesday morning. And at least one resident at the Shillman House senior living center in Framingham had died in a small outbreak there.
