Needham Bank launches dementia-friendly banking hours (metrowestdailynews.com) — Needham Bank's Natick branch will begin dementia-friendly banking hours on Oct. 17, offering a calmer environment and trained staff from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. every third Saturday. In partnership with Dementia Friendly Natick and the Council on Aging, the program aims to make local banking safer and less stressful for residents living with dementia and their caregivers.
2. Natick High mentorship program aims to keep 9th graders from getting lost (natickreport.com) — Natick High School's peer mentorship program now pairs every one of the more than 400 freshmen with trained junior and senior mentors to ease the transition into high school. At a recent Natick School Committee meeting, student leader Max Cogliano described how activities like scavenger hunts, Halloween door decorating, and club fairs help ninth graders build friendships and confidence while giving upperclassmen a chance to give back.
3. Framingham sex offender Carlos Davila seeks parole in November (milforddailynews.com) — A state parole board will consider releasing a convicted Level 3 sex offender at a hearing scheduled for November 17 in Natick, drawing regional attention to the town. The man, formerly of Framingham, has served 17 years for indecent assault and battery on a child under 14, sentenced under Massachusetts' version of Jessica's Law after prior sex crime convictions.
4. Natick girls volleyball improves to 9-2 with win at Framingham (metrowestdailynews.com) — Natick High School's girls volleyball team boosted its record to 9-2 with a straight-sets win at Framingham High, taking the match 25-19, 25-20, and 25-14. Photos highlight strong play from Natick captains, underclass standouts, and even a lighthearted moment featuring the freshman coach's young son helping from the stands.
