Michael Dukakis to help kick off State Senate Campaign in North Attleborough

Join Natick Democrat Dylan Hayre and former Governor Michael Dukakis as they kick off Dylan Hayre's campaign for the Massachusetts State Senate - Tue, July 2 at the North Attleborough Elks.

On Tuesday, July 2, Governor Michael Dukakis will be in North Attleborough to help kick off Dylan Hayre’s campaign for the Massachusetts State Senate. A Democrat from Natick, Hayre is looking to challenge GOP incumbent Richard Ross in the Norfolk, Bristol & Middlesex District in 2014, and is asking folks to join him on July 2 as he starts that process.

“Over the past several months, I have travelled up and down this district to meet with folks and to discuss the issues and challenges that they face,” says Hayre, 27. “While this kickoff is the official start to our campaign, it is really a continuation of what we have already been doing – bringing people together to talk about how we can work together on behalf of our communities.”

Hayre is an attorney who operates a legal practice that focuses on representing veterans, and currently serves as the Chair of the Natick Council on Aging and as an Elected Member of Natick Town Meeting. A graduate of Boston College, Boston College Law School, and the Boston College Lynch School of Education, Hayre says he feels that the opportunities he has had over the past several years are what motivate him to serve.

Hayre says, “I started out as an intern to Sen. Ted Kennedy in high school, and went on to volunteer in service programs and on campaigns throughout college and law school. I have been blessed with amazing opportunities and I want to pay that forward and serve my community.”

When asked what his priorities would be as a State Senator, Hayre responded, “My number one priority – the reason I am running to serve in this seat – is to work as hard for people as they work for themselves and their families. We can fight for a balanced and robust economy; a truly 21st-century system of education; a more transparent government; and a state that really does offer women, veterans, elders, and youth the chance to maximize their potential through opportunity and empowerment. But we can only do it if we work together.”
