Gas Prices In Massachusetts Down Another 2 Cents

AAA is reporting another decrease in gas prices across the state.

MASSACHUSETTS — There's a little more relief at the pump, as gas prices trickled down another two cents this week, and six cents lower over the last two weeks.

AAA’s Jan. 23 survey of prices in Massachusetts finds self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $2.23 per gallon. The Massachusetts price is eight cents below the national average for regular unleaded of $2.31. A year ago at this time, the average price in Massachusetts was 39 cents lower at $1.84, said AAA.

“While all eyes remain on OPEC and their ability to ensure compliance with their production cut agreement, increased U.S. oil production could negatively impact the OPEC global oil rebalancing effort,” said Mary Maguire, director of public and legislative affairs for AAA Northeast, in a statement.
