Celebrating over 90 years of excellence in fashion education, The School of Fashion Design is the only educational institution in New England dedicated exclusively to the study of fashion design. SFD provides students with a solid foundation in apparel design and construction, and the skills required for a successful career in fashion. Our technical Certificate program is taught by experts in the field of fashion design. Students may take courses toward the Certificate or on a class-by-class basis to fill professional education interests. For creatives and textile arts enthusiasts, SFD offers workshops in various fiber arts such as weaving, lace making, embroidery, millinery, upcycling, and more. As an SFD student, you will join a diverse community of emerging designers. Our studios are filled with recent high school graduates, students from nearby colleges enriching their education with fashion, and working professionals embarking on a new career path. SFD faculty and students are active partners in our local community, collaborating regularly with organizations and businesses through internships, exhibitions, field trips, and special events. In recent years, we have witnessed remarkable material and technological progress, yet this has not been matched by a corresponding increase in human happiness or inner peace. Many of us still experience worry, anxiety, and uncertainty about the future.
In this three-week series, we will explore practical mindfulness methods, helpful ways of thinking, and guided meditations drawn from Buddha’s teachings. These classes are designed to help us become calmer, more resilient, and increasingly fearless in the face of adversity and life’s uncertainties.

Gen Kelsang Khedrub has been a Buddhist monk and meditation teacher for over 30 years, practicing under the guidance of Ven. Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche. He is a Harvard alumnus (AB class of ’92). Gen Khedrub has taught Buddhism and meditation across the country and regularly gives special events at universities and corporate settings. Since 2020 he has been serving as the Resident Teacher at <a href="https://meditationinboston.org/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Kadampa Meditation Center Boston</a>, located in Davis Square, Cambridge, MA.
