NATICK, MA — Welcome to the weekend. We're in for a stretch of quintessentially New England fall weather with mostly sunny skies and temperatures in the low 60s — a good time to take a safe drive to see some foliage.

Today, state education officials released the first census of coronavirus in schools across Massachusetts. The state Department of Elementary and Secondary Education plans to release a report each Thursday tracking cases in schools.

School districts including Natick, Worcester, Marlborough, Hopkinton and Shrewsbury had either students or staff — or both in some cases — who tested positive between Sept. 24 and Sept. 30, according to Friday's report.
