NATICK, MA — For the second year in a row, the long-running Natick Artists Open Studios (NAOS) weekend won't be held as usual due to coronavirus — but organizers still have events planned in its place, including an October outdoor artist showcase.

The NAOS weekend was set for Oct. 16 and 17, but organizers decided to postpone until the spring due to lingering high cases related to the delta variant, according to Natick painter Denise Girardin. Organizers are planning to hold the event on April 30 and May 1.

There will still be an event when NAOS was set to happen. An Art in the Park event will be held Oct. 17 at Shaw Park, 53 Eliot St., in South Natick. The event will have room for about 25 tents featuring artists displaying work across a variety of mediums, from photography to fiber and paint.

The annual NAOS weekend has been happening every October for more than two decades — 2021 would mark the event's 21st year. During the last live event in 2019, more than 80 artists across the town participated, opening their homes and studios to the public. The 2020 NAOS event was held virtually.
