Natick Fire Department Clears Home Following Carbon Monoxide Scare

The department responded to a possible structure fire, but determined that high carbon monoxide levels were the real problem.

NATICK, MA — Natick fire officials were forced to clear a residential home due to high carbon monoxide levels on Wednesday, the department said.

Crews were called to a possible structure fire at 8:10 a.m., officials said.

On the scene, they determined that a boiler had malfunctioned, giving off heat and gases. The building was monitored and high levels of carbon monoxide were found.

The unit was shut off and the building was ventilated until it was safe for the residents to return to the home, officials said.
