Natick Kicks Off 4th Of July With Kid's Parade

The Children's Parade marched around the Natick Common in wagons, bikes and on foot.

NATICK, MA — Natick kicked off the Fourth of July a few days early with the Children's Parade around the Common on Monday. Youngsters met at the Common for the mini procession in decked out bikes, wagons and banners — all red, white and blue to honor the nation.

Organizers said this year brought a crowd of 300 participants, the largest number in the parades history. Kids marched around the Common with their parents and friends and played Fourth of July games as well, for prizes. The children's homemade "floats" competed for prizes from Park St. Ice Cream Shoppe and Cafe.

First place went to Sean, Katy, Robbie, and Brody for their Horse-Drawn Chariot. Second place went to Anna and her unicorn bike. Third place went to Jessie and the Spaceship. Honorable mentions included Lukas and Melody and their patriotic wagons.
