Natick Police, DA Investigating Fatal Crash on Speen Street

One man was killed and another person was injured in a crash at the intersection of Speen Street and Timber Lane in Natick Tuesday night.

NATICK, MA — Authorities are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at the intersection of Speen Street and Timber Lane Tuesday night.

Police and the District Attorney's office say that a 23-year-old Waltham man was killed after his 2015 Subaru collided with a 2003 Acura TL, causing it to leave the roadway and strike a large tree. The man was extricated from the vehicle by two bystanders and was transported to MetroWest Medical Center by ambulance, where he was pronounced dead.

Immediately following the crash, a Natick police officer administered CPR using an automated external defibrillator until the fire department arrived on scene before the man was transported, according to a press release.

An 81-year-old Natick man, who was driving the Acura, was uninjured during the crash. His passenger was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The crash is under investigation by Natick police, the District Attorney's office and the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section. No further information was released.
