Natick Seeks Residents For New Fire Chief Search
Natick Fire Department Chief Michael Lentini is retiring at the end of his contract in May.

NATICK, MA — If you want to help Natick select its next fire chief, you have less than two weeks to apply to join a new committee.
The Select Board is in the process of finding members for the Natick Fire Chief Screening Committee. The committee will be charged with finding a variety of candidates for the job, who will then be narrowed down through interviews and sent to the Select Board for a final decision.
Natick Fire Department Chief Michael Lentini recently notified the town he would be retiring at the expiration of this current contract, which is in May 2022. The committee must finish its work picking new chief candidates within about six months of its formation.

Lentini was hired as chief in 2018 from a group of several candidates, including Natick Deputy Chief Daniel Dow and an assistant chief from Rochester, NH. Lentini joined the department in 1990, which means his retirement will also come after 32 years of service.
The deadline to apply to join the Natick Fire Chief Screening Committee is Oct. 6. Find instructions on how to do that on the town website.
