The Natick Visiting Nurse Association (Natick VNA), the area’s premier free-standing, not-for-profit home health care agency, today announced that it has partnered with A Place to Turn Food Pantry to benefit qualified patients.
In MetroWest, twelve percent of the population is food-insecure. That is, they do not know where their next meal will come from.
In its last fiscal year, A Place To Turn served close to 10,000 people in the pantry.

“Since patients of the Natick VNA are homebound, we wanted to offer the clinicians the opportunity to pick up food on their behalf,” said Joanne Barry, A Place To Turn’s Executive Director. “We know how challenging it can be for individuals recovering from surgery or hospital stays to get out of their homes and shop for food. This partnership makes it easy for qualified patients to get healthy food,” Barry added.
Judith Boyko, MBA, MS, RN, Chief Executive Officer of the Natick VNA, said that this partnership will support Natick VNA’s mission to provide caring, compassionate multi-disciplinary healthcare services to patients in their homes.

“A Place To Turn has made it seamless for our staff to pick up food for their patients and deliver it directly to them during their scheduled visits. We know that, in addition to the care we are providing to them, our patients will not go hungry simply because they are housebound,” Boyko said.
