Natick Water Ban Goes Into Effect Amid Drought Conditions
The ban on non-essential water use goes into effect Tuesday, according to Natick officials.
NATICK, MA — Natick officials have instituted a town-wide water use restriction amid near-drought conditions in the area.
The restriction goes into effect on Tuesday, and limits water use according to home and business addresses. In general, the restriction means outdoor watering will only be allowed on specific days of the week.
Much of New England is in a moderate drought, according to the U.S. Drought Monitor. Drought conditions in Natick are listed as "abnormally dry," which is the lowest level. However, abnormally dry conditions mean a higher risk of outdoor fires, and a decline in surface water levels.
