One Helluva Effort

Hi Friends,
I've only worked w/ a few groups who were as joyous, friendly, and hardworking as the Crew from CA Technologies, Framingham. And I've worked with quite a few. I deeply appreciate everything you folks did this morning. Pretty amazing what 20 people can do in 3 hours. Hope you'll connect with me again on another initiative in the near future.
I'd also like to thank my dear friend and BHLF Trail Buddy, Buz Bragdon, for his help documenting the effort. I'll send along an entire album when I get those outstanding photos from Buz. I'd also like to thank my good friend, Dan Brilman, for doing a video documentary of our effort <eawakening@gmail.com>. Dan's an amazing "documenter" of the efforts of ordinary citizens who are trying to heal the earth and their communities. And my new friend, Doug Grindle, who also took some photos and pitched in to help us.
Many thanks to my good friend at Dunkin Donuts Corporate, Nick Jenkins, who has provided probably $2000 in refreshments, coffee, hot chocolate over the past four years, not to mention my good friend at Natick Home Depot, Assistant Manager Marvin Hammett, who just gave me a generous donation of $150 worth of trash bags, pickers, gloves, etc.
I also would like to thank my veteran BHLF Trail Buddies and Volunteers: Dan Dick, Jeremy Cohen, Art Massuco, Bob Severance, Tim Brainerd, Christine Chunnefeld, (and my dear wife, Jane, who made sure that our snack and supply table would not blow away in the gusty winds) all of whom have been helping me with the Trash-Free Natick Project (as well as the Natick Trails, woodlands, streams and conservation areas). We're getting closer all the time to our goal of making Natick The First Trash-Free Community in Massachusetts in 2014. Only need another 20 volunteers; and it's never been done before. Let's do it. A town of 33,000 people and about 50 volunteers gets it done.
Imagine what we could do w/ about 500 volunteers; and you know, that is actually possible. --Pat
