How Much Does Your School District Spend Per Student?

Boston Magazine ranked 125 Greater Boston districts by factors such as overall performance, standardized test scores and cost per pupil.

BOSTON, MA — How much is your school district spending on your child? Boston Magazine released its rankings of the top public districts in Greater Boston this week, based on factors ranging from SAT/ACT scores to graduation rate. The magazine compiled data from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education for districts located within, or partially within, I-495.

Included in the data is the cost each district spends per student. Districts with fewer students enrolled typically spend more per pupil, although larger, acclaimed public school systems such as Boston and Newton also landed among the top spenders.

Below are the 25 districts that spend the most money per student, according to Boston Magazine. The first number represents the number of students enrolled, followed by the cost per pupil.
