- Why go: Whether or not you’re a Koko FitClub member, you can participate in this weekend’s 5 Million-Point Challenge and help raise money for cancer research. Using the company’s patented Smartraining technology, Koko FitClub will compile all the exercise activity data of those working out during the 24-hour challenge to be tallied toward a fundraising goal. If Koko members nationwide can collectively reach the 5 million-point total in 24 hours, Koko will donate $20,000 to the American Cancer Society Relay For Life. Individuals can sign up for a time slot beforehand or walk in to participate, but keep in mind that there may be a short wait time. Call 781-444-0011 for information.

- Why go: Boys in grades 1-4 and their families are invited to come watch Needham Pack 4 Cub Scouts shoot off their rockets and learn more about Cub Scouts and the fun activities they can participate in by joining Scouts. - Why go: The inaugural event in the new Needham Bank Great Hall Concert Series is sold out, but it’s worth mentioning that this exciting new series is launching this weekend. Saturday’s performance will feature selections from great Broadway productions such as “Kiss Me Kate,” “West Side Story” and “Les Misérables.” Tickets are selling fast but are still available for the next events in the series: Tiger Okoshi Quintent on May 12; Orion piano trio on Sept. 22; and Tom Rush on Nov. 3. - Why go: Celebrate the start of spring by getting out this weekend and dining in one of Needham’s many great restaurants. Whether you want to grab a table by the window, enjoy the indoor atmosphere of a local eatery or savor an ice cream cone on the , there are plenty of options to whet your appetite in town. While you’re out, be sure to drop a dollar or two in the UNICEF Tap Project buckets that were left at about 21 businesses by . The kids are raising funds during World Water Week, March 19-25, to help provide clean water to people all over the world through UNICEF. After you’ve donated, visit the school’s Tumblr site to leave a tip for water conservation as part of the project. And when you’re drinking a tall, clean glass of water with dinner, be thankful you can!
