5-Year-Old Needham Girl Struck by Vehicle
Both the child and her mother were taken to this hospital.

NEEDHAM, MA — A 5-year-old girl was injured Saturday after she was struck by a motor vehicle.
Police and fire responded to Pickering Street near Greene's Field at about 1:40 p.m. Police say that the the girl ran into the street suddenly and was struck by a vehicle. Her mom, a 50-year-old from Needham, had her foot run over by the same vehicle while attempting to stop her daughter.
Both the girl and her mom were taken to Massachusetts General Hospital.

Based on witness statements and on-scene factors, the operator of the vehicle will not face charges.
