This week, the Needham Community Concert Band took part in the Arts in the Park summer concert series at . Unencumbered by a heatwave, the 40-member band opened with the National Anthem and, under the direction of David Neves, performed show tunes, marching tunes and other popular songs. Concert goers enjoyed pleasant weather as the sun set on the gazebo for this special and intimate concert, which was also part of Needham's 300 birthday celebration. The Arts in the Park concert series is sponsored by the Needham Recreation Department and held every Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. The concerts are always free, but donations are welcome so that the program can continue on next year.
