• BID Lays Foundation for Growth (needhamlocal.org) — Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital–Needham is turning part of Oak Street into valet parking as the first visible step in a much larger expansion that could stretch from Oak Street to Chestnut Place. Hospital leaders outlined long-term growth plans in surgery, women's health, primary care, digestive health, and behavioral health, which will require zoning changes and are aimed at meeting sharply rising local demand by 2027.
