• BID Lays Foundation for Growth (needhamlocal.org) — Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital–Needham is turning part of Oak Street into valet parking as the first visible step in a much larger expansion that could stretch from Oak Street to Chestnut Place. Hospital leaders outlined long-term growth plans in surgery, women's health, primary care, digestive health, and behavioral health, which will require zoning changes and are aimed at meeting sharply rising local demand by 2027.
   

• Best high schools in Massachusetts (homenewshere.com subscription) — Needham families will be interested to know St. Sebastian's School in town ranks among the top 25 high schools in Massachusetts, earning an A+ grade from Niche. The statewide list highlights mostly private schools and one public option, comparing academics, diversity, activities, and resources so parents can gauge how local options stack up against other elite schools.
