During its annual convention in October, Arpin Van Lines honored prime agent Mark’s Moving & Storage Inc. with the 2011 Humanitarian Award. The award is given each year to one of the company’s more than 300 agents in recognition of that agent's community involvement and charitable work.
"We are honored to receive the award," said Mark Silverman, president of Mark’s Moving & Storage and a Needham resident. "Giving back to the community has always been an important part of our business and we're glad this award can help publicize all the great charities we work with each year."
Among those charities are the National Multiple Sclerosis Foundation, the Arthritis Foundation, the United Way, the Joe Andruzzi Foundation, and Hits For Kids, a nonprofit started by Boston Red Sox slugger Kevin Youkilis.

"Each one of these organizations is deserving of support," Silverman said. "The Humanitarian Award is as much about recognizing them as it is us. We're just happy to help support them and our communities."
Mark’s Moving & Storage Inc. was founded in 1979 by Silverman. The company’s headquarters and storage facility is located in Westborough and features a 90,000 square-foot warehouse with six loading docks and rail access. They also have an office in Needham.
