Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital Gets 'A' in Hospital Safety
Only a third of the more than 2,500 hospitals surveyed in the United States received an A for safety along with BID-Needham.
Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital (BID-Needham) is proud to announce The Leapfrog Group, a national safety group, has awarded the hospital an ‘A,’ the highest score possible, for protecting patients from accidents, errors, injuries and infections.
“Leapfrog is one of the many ways in which we evaluate our success and commitment in quality and safety,” said BID-Needham President and CEO John Fogarty. “We are very proud of our clinicians and everyone who participated in this achievement.”
Calculated under the guidance of Leapfrog’s Blue Ribbon Expert Panel, the Leapfrog Group uses 28 measures of publicly available hospital safety data to produce a single a grade, from A to F, to represent a hospital’s overall capacity to keep patients safe from preventable harm. Only a third of the more than 2,500 hospitals surveyed in the United States received an A for safety along with BID-Needham.
