Break-In, Identity Theft, And More: Needham Police Log

September 18

9:15 p.m. - An officer responded to a Cabot Street business for the report of possible credit card fraud. Five individuals stated that they received suspicious phone calls looking for their credit card information. The matter is under investigation.

7:30 a.m. - An officer responded to a single car crash on Nehoiden Street. An RMV check of the vehicle involved revealed a revoked registration for insurance cancellation. The operator of the vehicle, a 31-year-old Randolph woman, will be charged with operating with revoked registration, and operating without insurance.

8:00 a.m. - A walk-in to the police station reported that his social security number was stolen and a fraudulent account was opened as a result. The matter is under investigation.

8:40 a.m. - A walk-in reported attempted identity theft. The matter is under investigation.

6:25 p.m. - An officer stopped a motor vehicle on 1st Avenue for an equipment violation. It was discovered that the operator had a suspended license. The 24-year-old Boston man will be summoned to Dedham District Court for operating after with a suspended license.

September 20

8:00 a.m. - An officer was dispatched to a Chestnut Street business for a reported break-in The reported person stated that a small amount of cash was taken from an office inside the building, along with some minor damage to property inside same. This incident is under investigation.
