Briarwood Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center Names New Physician to Lead Medical Team

From Briarwood Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center: Briarwood Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, a Marquis Health Services skilled nursing facility, today announced the appointment of Dr. Roger Schutt as Medical Director. The 120-bed center also recently welcomed the following medical professionals to the medical team: Dr. Kenneth Silverman, a cardiologist, and Dr. Peter Ostrow, a pulmonologist.

“Dr. Schutt has tremendous experience in geriatrics and subacute care, and he shares our passion for providing the highest quality of care to our residents,” said Jenny Baldassarre, Administrator at Briarwood Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. “Our medical team and support staff are eager to partner with Drs. Schutt, Silverman, Ostrow, and we look forward to what their expertise will bring to our healthcare center.”

Dr. Schutt is a board-certified family practitioner affiliated with the Beth Israel Deaconess HealthCare network. He received his medical degree from University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine and has been in practice for more than 20 years.

The additions of Dr. Silverman and Dr. Ostrow enhance Briarwood’s Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation Program, which is designed to help manage and minimize the effects of cardiac and pulmonary diseases.

Dr. Silverman, a cardiologist in Norwood, has been more than four decades of experience and is affiliated with several medical centers including Norwood Hospital. He graduated from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.

Dr. Ostrow, a Spanish-speaking pulmonologist from Needham, is affiliated with other local hospitals in the area, including Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and New England Baptist Hospital. He has been in practice for over 20 years.
