Charges Filed In Needham Hit-And-Run That Injured Biker

NEEDHAM, MA — The driver in a crash that sent one person to the hospital will face charges, the Needham Police Department announced.
On Dec. 31 at about 1:40 p.m, police responded to a report of a vehicle that struck a bicyclist near Central Avenue and Bellevue Road and fled the scene. The cyclist, a 63-year-old Newton man, was treated the scene and taken to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston with a head injury.
A witness followed the vehicle into Newton, where officers were able to pull the vehicle over and question the driver, identified as a 70-year-old from Dover.

Police have issued the driver a summons for leaving the scene of a motor accident that resulted in personal injury. The driver's name has not been released.
