Children’s Songwriter Stacey Peasley Releases New Album
Power-pop venture packs a lasting family entertainment punch
Critically acclaimed children’s singer/songwriter Stacey Peasley has released her third family music album, RSVP, now available to the public.
Peasley’s latest power-pop venture packs a lasting family entertainment punch, drawing on the ‘life-with-kids’ toppling twists and turns, infusing joy into each track. RSVP reveals her own eclectic parenting influences and experiences evolve in this musical artistic “diary” through a kaleidoscope of true life. Stories spin into relevant songs from the humorous and quirky, to the honest, tough reality of family growth. Her touching songwriting style taps a myriad of genres, allowing each tune’s driving beat to capture listeners to the heart of the matter. Feedback on RSVP rings true to its inspiration: “Stacey's music deals with topics not usually covered in children's music. She sings about real life challenges that children face.” Individual tracks are drawing their own fans. “Step Outside the Box is inspiring and uplifting, and hearing my daughter sing along to it makes me hopeful that she will one day realize the power and importance of its’ message.” – Boston Moms Blog Review. The album has also been named a top 20 family music release by Musical Merry Go Round on KDHX FM St. Louis.
RSVP explores real-life familiarities that tug on the funny bone and sentimental heart of every family. Catchy playful vocals, tight harmonies, inspiring percussion and full-on band sound in “Where are Your Shoes”, that all-too-familiar rousing trip of mania when everyone’s on the way out the door. Endless cycles of carpooling in “Driving” grabs the simultaneous joy of shuffling to kids activities while racing against the clock. Title track “RSVP” taps into the realization that we’ve all experienced: sometimes a summer birthday party isn’t all it’s cracked up to be! Other tunes delve deeper into the universal family sentiments of courage, leadership, insecurity, allergies, hand-me-down clothes and more!

Celebrating nearly 25 years as a performer, Peasley performs or teaches daily, infusing the lives of children and families with music. She has performed numerous musical styles – classic rock, pop, disco/dance, oldies and standards – but in 2005, sparked by the musical bond she shared with her oldest child by attending shows and listening to children’s artists together, Peasley began to adapt her craft to children’s music. A teacher for ten years and a professional singer for twenty, Peasley also combines her love of children and music into a lively act that engages kids and creates memorable and fun sing-along songs, offering performances throughout the greater Boston area.
Upcoming performances include an annual show at The Center for the Arts (TCAN) in Natick on Saturday, February 11, 11 am (www.natickarts.org) and at The Cabot Theater in Beverly on Friday, February 24, 10:30 am (www.thecabot.org).
RSVP is produced by Grammy® Award winning percussionist Marty Beller, with two tracks produced and arranged by band member Bill Doucette, and cover art by Jill Howarth Illustration.
