Come to Messages of Hope and Make a Difference

Create a card for teens who are inpatient and struggling with mental health challenges

On Sunday, February 11th at 1 PM, the IAM Strong Foundation, with the support of the Westwood Council on Aging, will host Messages of Hope. Drop by the Westwood Senior Center on Nahatan Street in Westwood between 1 and 3 PM and create a message of support for teens. Write an uplifting note, draw a picture, or create a poem for those who are struggling. The messages will be delivered to teens who are hospitalized, or shared online or in print. Drawing materials and note cards will be provided, and refreshments will be served.

Last year’s Messages of Hope was a community building, uplifting event resulting in cards and notes that made a difference for teens receiving inpatient psychiatric care at area hospitals. Caregivers at area hospitals have shared that the notes have an immediate impact on the recipients. Just one uplifting note can make a world of difference.

The IAM Strong Foundation, which seeks to shatter the stigma of mental health struggles in adolescents, is proud to host this special opportunity to make a difference. Messages of Hope is open to everyone, of all ages. For more information about the IAM Strong Foundation, go to www.iamstrongfoundation.org
