Construction Worker Injured At Work Site, Dog Bite, And More: Needham Police Log

The following is from the Needham Police Log. Arrest and charges mentioned don't imply conviction.

October 5

7:30 p.m. - Officer observed a vehicle fail to stop for a red traffic signal on Highland Avenue and attempted to stop it. The vehicle was pulling over they drove over a raised grass island and collided with a tree. It was determined that the, operator, a 17-year-old Needham man, did not have a license to drive. The two juvenile passengers were identified and released and the operators parents responded to the scene. The parents took possession of the vehicle. A crash report was filed for the collision with the tree and the operator will be summonsed into juvenile court for operating without a license and a red light violation.

A resident of Tower Avenue reported missing a pair of diamond earrings. They are insured. Report for insurance purposes only.

2:15 a.m. - An officer took a missing property report from an Israeli male at the police station. The man reported that he had lost his cell phone while travelling from New York City to Boston on the Bolt bus.

9:50 a.m. - An officer responded to a Perrault Road apartment to speak with a party regarding a dog bite. The resident told me that the dog bite occurred at CVS on Highland Avenue in the rear lot. A check of the area was conducted but was unable to locate a dog in the area of CVS.

12:45 p.m. - Officers were dispatched to Oakhurst Circle residence for a construction worker who had a piece of equipment fall on him, causing significant injury. Needham Fire treated and stabilized the 35-year-old Connecticut man and requested MedFlight extraction due to the extent of the injuries. He was transported by MedFlight to Brigham and Women's Hospital. OSHA was notified and responded.

1:20 p.m. - A walk-in entered the station to report that two weeks ago she lost her flute.
