Cops: Stop After Possible B&E Leads to Arrest for Pot Distribution

The Needham PD supplied the following information. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Wednesday, Aug. 6

  • At 7:30 p.m., police responded to a car traveling on Hunting Road with a rejected inspection sticker. After stopping him, police found he had a suspended license. A 43-year-old man from Needham will be summonsed to Dedham District Court for operating without a license.

Thursday, Aug. 7

  • At 12:16 a.m., police responded to the area of Holland Terrace for a report of possible B&E into car, in progress. After a description was given, the suspect was located. A large amount of marijuana was found in the front passenger side seat in plain view. Police also found more marijuana, digital scales, and other indicators of drug distribution. Poice arrested Rory O’Connor, 21, 23 Rosalie Road, Needham, for possession of Class D substance with intent to distribute
  • At 8:30 a.m., police responded to a truck knocking down a branch belonging to a resident of Greendale Ave. The branch was removed, and “all parties satisfied.”
  • At 9:20 a.m., police responded to the Depot Restaurant for a report of a shoplifter. A 26-year-old Foxborough resident will be summonsed to court for larceny over $250.
  • At 10 a.m., a construction worker fell about 10 feet and was transported to the hospital
  • At 10:11 a.m., police responded to 2nd Ave. parking garage for reports of a Uhaul truck that struck the ceiling of a garage. The operator was taken to the hospital with facial injuries.
  • At 1 p.m., police responded to a call reporting a hit and run at the Sheraton Hotel
  • At 7:12 p.m., police responded to a Dartmouth Ave. address for a report of threatening letters.
  • At 8 p.m., a resident from Walnut Street visited the police station to report that his car had been hit while parked on Great Plain Ave.

  • At 12:44 p.m., police responded to Gay Street for a report of people being inside abandoned house.

Saturday, Aug. 10

  • At 10:37 p.m., police made a traffic stop on Central Ave. A 17-year-old Newton man was driving with a 16-year-old passenger. He was cited for failure to dim high beams and also the junior operator’s restriction.
