Cops: Woman Steals Kid's Shirt Off Rack, Flees to Tracks

The following are excerpts from the Needham police log. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Friday, Sept. 19

  • At 6:39 p.m., police responded to a Greendale Ave. residence to asset the resident regarding past fraud.
  • At 12:23 p.m., police responded to a Beard Way resident who reported that her rear license plate was either lost or stolen
  • At 2:53 p.m., police responded to Pollywogs on Great Plain Ave. The store owner reported that a woman had removed a child’s shirt from a rack and put the shirt in her pocketbook. When confronted, the woman fled the store and rain down the railroad tracks into the parking lot. Unable to locate.
  • At 7:47 p.m., police pulled over a speeder on Whiting Way. The driver, a 45-year-old Norwood man, was operating with an expired license and will be summonsed to court for unlicensed operation and speeding
