Cowlicks Deli Shuts Down

NEEDHAM - Cowlicks Deli on Garden Street has closed their doors.

Deli owner John Stelmach told the Needham Times that the shop was forced to close because their new landlord, 7-Eleven refused to renew their lease. The convenience store chain took over the lease after purchasing Tedeschi Food Shops last year. Stelman was given 70 days to close and move everything off the property.

Stelmach said he was told that the lease was terminated because 7-Eleven did not want any competition for their food offerings.

A new location is unlikely due to the high rent prices in Needham.
