Cyclist Struck By Car, Items Stolen, And More: Needham Police Log

August 28

A resident of Stonefield Court told police that some items were taken out of his car while it was parked in the driveway. This occurred overnight on Aug. 15.

An officer was dispatched to the intersection of Highland Avenue and West Street for a report of a motor vehicle crash involving a cyclist. The crash was reported by a retired officer who was near the scene at the time of the incident working a traffic detail. The bike was damaged but the cyclist was uninjured.

An employee of a Chestnut Street business reported receiving a disturbing call from a man. Needham Police called him back and he agreed to stop calling.

August 29

9:19 a.m. - An officer conducted a traffic stop on West Street by Hillside Avenue. The registered owner of the vehicle, a 41-year-old Rockland man was issued a summons for operating with a suspended license.

An Appleton Road resident reported some items missing from his home.

A resident of Windsor Road reported that his car was struck while it was parked at McDonalds. The driver of the other vehicle was found and they exchanged information.

2:30 p.m. - An Officer was dispatched to Highland Avenue for a report of counterfeit money used sometime during the weekend. The matter has been referred to the U.S. Secret Service.

A walk-in to the lobby of the police station reported that two of her credit cards had been taken from her wallet and transactions had been made in Braintree with her card information. The matter is under investigation.

5:45 p.m. - An officer responded to a Fair Oaks residence for a report of a cell phone that was stolen at the St. Sebastian rink.
