Continuing the celebration of the 300th anniversary of the foundings of the First Parish Church and the Town of Needham, First Parish will host a free exhibit of historic artifacts and pictures on Sunday afternoon April 10, 2011, from 2:30 to 4:30 P.M. The public is cordially invited to attend, and refreshments will be served.
In addition to historic paintings and photographs, the exhibit will include the diary of Needham’s first minister, the Reverend Jonathan Townsend (1720-1762), and the memoir of the Reverend Samuel West (l764-1788). Artifacts from the early edifices and one-of-a-kind antique books and worship service items will also be on display, along with posters depicting the life and service of five outstanding church and civic leaders.
First Parish is located just off the town square at 23 Dedham Ave (route 135). Please enter through the Lincoln Street doors. There is ample parking in the town lot off of Lincoln Street.
