A Christmas Cantata Worship Service

The music ministry of  will celebrate Advent with worship in song by presenting "The Promise of a King: A Christmas Proclamation of Hope" on Sunday, Dec. 18 at 10:00 a.m. at the church.

Assisting in presenting this contemporary choral work will be a tenor from The New England Conservatory of Music.

Worship is a dynamic experience at First Baptist, blending a beautiful, historical sanctuary with LCD projections which create an inviting environment for all ages.

Sean Lair, music director, selected a large-scale choral work, "The Promise of a King," by Lloyd Larson and Joseph Martin, to augment the worship service on Dec. 18. Lair, a recent graduate of NEC with Academic Honors, is an active member of Boston’s music community. He describes the music as, “an engagingly beautiful piece which uses elaborate piano scoring and rich harmonies to celebrate the life of Christ from prophecy to fulfillment.”

Coffee, juice and desserts will be shared immediately following the worship service.
