New York Times best-selling illustrator, author, children's advocate and entrepreneur Peter H. Reynolds will address Hillside school students and their families at the school's annual Literacy Night event on December 6, from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
Creator of dozens of children's books published in over 20 languages, including Judy Moody and Stink (feature length film being released in August of 2011), Reynolds will inspire students with messages about authentic learning, creativity and self-expression.
Sponsored by the Hillside PTC, Reynolds's Literacy Night presentation will feature an entertaining blend of fanciful art work, and perhaps even a live animation and reading from one his books which include The Dot, The North Star, Ish, So Few of Me and his latest creation, Rose's Garden. Reynolds often kicks off his presentations by demonstrating a drawing of Judy Moody or Stink, or asking a student to play the role of Vashti while he reads The Dot. The author will sign books after the presentation, and many of his popular titles will be available for sale.
