'Fairy Legends of Ireland'

The Library Foundation of Needham invites the community to come to the Needham Free Public Library Community Room on Saturday, March 10, at 10:30 a.m., for "Fairy Legends of Ireland: Storytelling Accompanied by Celtic Harp," presented by storyteller Diane Edgecomb, with accompaniment by Celtic harpist Margot Chambelain.

There is plenty of laughter and delight in this animated retelling of Ireland’s best-loved gems. The storytelling includes Irish favorites like Gilly Blackfoot “a young lad’s aversion to washing his feet causes him to fall in with a fairy band.” Cloaks of Invisibility and magic spells abound, as hapless Gilly sets out to help free the Princess of France. Diane Edgecomb is known for her vivid comedic style and brings delight to her interpretations of these classic Irish favorites.
