
Enjoy a perfect day of ballet fun for the budding dancers and story lovers in your family on Thursday, March 15 at 4 p.m. when ballerinas from MassBallet take center stage at the . Author David Ira Rottenberg will read his new picture book, "Gwendolyn Goes Hollywood," while the dancers perform the story. As an added treat, a mini-movement lesson will be offered to the children in the audience after the performance and Rottenberg will sign copies of his book.
The presentation is an encore performance after a highly successful event last year when Rottenberg presented the first book in the series, "Gwendolyn, the Graceful Pig," also with dancers from MassBallet.
Rottenberg contacted MassBallet’s Artistic Director Meghan Powers about again offering the event in the Needham Library and Powers was immediately enthusiastic.

“Nothing delights us more than the opportunity to work with artists in other genres and educate young children about the joys of ballet and reading," she said.
Powers hopes that MassBallet will do more performances of "Gwendolyn Goes Hollywood," and she looks forward to finding other opportunities for collaboration.

“Our dancers love to perform and outreach programs like this are part of our school’s mission," she said.
"Gwendolyn Goes Hollywood" packs plenty of fun and adventure when the world’s two danciest pigs, Gwendolyn and Omar, head to Hollywood to become stars in a musical. Will the movie be a hit? Can the two pigs really dance and sing? Can’t wait to find out? The event is free. Bring your cameras!
