It has been a long time—almost 13 years—since Barbara Kessler appeared last at the Homegrown Coffeehouse, and what an amazing road she has traveled over that stretch. After sharing the stage for nearly a decade and a half with artists including the Indigo Girls, David Wilcox, Shawn Colvin, Arlo Guthrie, Dar Williams, Richie Havens, , Christine Lavin, Livingston Taylor and many others, Kessler decided to stop touring with the birth of her second daughter, Elaina. She continued to write and saw her music moving in new, deeper directions. Her songs began to appear on TV shows like NCIS, JAG, Passions, One Life to Live, The Young and The Restless, All My Children, Ed, Felicity, MTV, and even the SONY PlayStation game, Rogue Galaxy.
Now she's back, with a pile of new songs, a new CD about to be released, and a burning desire to be back in front of audiences. On Saturday, Oct. 22, Barbara Kessler will perform at the Homegrown Coffeehouse in Needham at 8:00 p.m.
The Homegrown Coffeehouse is located at the , at the corner of Great Plain and Dedham avenues in Needham Center.
